In
1996 the foundation had a 400 acr land on “flagpole
Hill” in the shire of Yea, just over 80klm out of Melbourne.
Kindly donated by two Business men. Mr Onoufrios Gorozidis and Mr Anastasios Tseprailidis. Which has been re-named to
Mt.Mela after the Mountain on which the icon of the Virgin
Mary was found. Plans are to build child facilities to cater
for over 100 children with all necessities for accommodation,
health, leisure and safety. On the later stage to build a
place of worship (church or Monastery) of the Eastern Christian
Faith.
Many things
have taken place on mount Mela from its initial purchase,
from building of roads, to Planting on New vegetation, olive
trees and even a traditional wood fire Oven.
In 2003 the Foundation organised a Working bee BBQ on Mt.Mela.
Even though it was a rain blessed day the even had 100’s
attend. With traditional Pontic and Greek Music, dancing and
